Not too long ago, I threw out my old computer because it was running so slow; I didn"t realize there was anything I could do about it.
I only thought there was only one way to get faster speeds for my computer, so I purchased a new PC (strangely, this is the same system that felt screamingly fast when I first got it).

If you have ever come to be disappointed with your new PC as it ran more and more slowly despite originally being quite fast, then you can empathize with me and my experience when I bought my PC.
My computer took a longer time than normal to go through the booting up process and slow down Internet speeds. It seems at times Windows would timeout while running some programs.
I figured out that I didn"t need to go purchase yet another new PC after I diagnosed these problems. Rather, I could perform some simple procedures myself to return my PC to a like-new state.
Follow these 9 steps to speed up a slow computer:
1. Removing all Spyware from your PC should be your first priority once you receive your computer system.
2. It must be indisputable that you have updated your version of Microsoft Windows so that you have all the latest security patches in place.
3. We advise that you use the more secure FireFox browser as Internet Explorer is more often the target of hackers and Phishers, even after you customize IE security settings.
4. Because unnecessary programs accumulate quickly and slow down the system at startup, they should be removed from your computer.
5. If you are using the Firewall from Microsoft, make sure that you install another program that is more effective, because Microsoft Firewall program does not provide the best protection.
6. Getting a reliable tool is essential to editing your computer"s registry when doing it yourself. This is an extremely difficult and tideous task, therefore a good quality reiable tool or product is highly reccommended.
7. If you de-fragment your hard drive, you will re-arrange the scattered data chunks into a contiguous order. This will result in a more expedient file search and will in turn, increase your system speed and performance.
8. If your computer system comes with an Anti-Virus program already installed, you will need to update the virus data files right away.
9. Ensure you identify and remove (uninstall) any unnecessary software, which will consume system resources and make your PC run slower.

Thank you for your patience and kind assistance. At first I thought it was a virus, but my antivirus wasn’t able to find anything wrong.
